Authentication applies the security practice of confirming the identity of authorized users or computer programs. Authentication typically involves the exchange of messages between a client and server, and often times uses a trusted third party to prove their identities. Once authenticated, the communicating parties are assured that they are who they claim to be.
The following authentication processes and services are supported for use in the MCP environment:
-
Userdata
-
SECURITYSUPPORT library
-
Kerberos and GSS-API
-
Windows Network Authentication Protocols (NTLM/ NTLMv2)
