Customizing Cryptography

You can customize cryptography for the following system types:

  • Libra 4300/6300/8300

  • Libra 6400/8400

  • Libra 4500/6500/8500

  • FS600

  • FS601

  • FS800

For these system types, the MCP Cryptographic Services are available on the ISMs and PMMs. Each environment is represented as a different environment. You use the NA MCAPI CRYPTOALLOCATION to customize the environments that are used for cryptography.

Use the following IP addresses:

  • PMM – 255.255.255.16

  • ISM-0 – 255.255.255.1

  • ISM-1 – 255.255.255.2

By default, all environments which have the MCP Cryptographic Services software installed are used.

Examples

The following example removes the PMM from the current allocation configuration:

NA MCAPI CRYPTOALLOCATION DISTRIBUTED – 255.255.255.16

The following example changes the configuration so that the cryptography is only used on the PMM:

NA MCAPI CRYPTOALLOCATION ONEONLY=255.255.255.16

For additional information about the NA MCAPI STATUS and NA MCAPI CRYPTOALLOCATION commands, refer to Configuring the MCAPISUPPORT Library.

Note: NA MCAPI CRYPTOALLOCATION does not affect where disk encryption is performed in the Libra or FS environment. For disk encryption to work correctly, MCP Cryptographic Services must be loaded onto all PMM and ISM environments.
