Installing Security Center to the MCP Environment

Refer to the Security Center Help for installation instructions.

If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Security Center, you should first back up your keys and certificates before upgrading Security Center. Export all keys and certificates to a keys file in your Windows environment.

When the security administrator initializes the MCP Cryptographic Services Manager snap-in after installation, the Cryptographic Services Manager database is initialized and clears all keys from the system. If necessary, after initializing the database, import the saved keys into the new version of MCP Cryptographic Services Manager.

Save the history file of the MCP Security Policy Management snap-in under System Wide Policy by exporting it to a file; ensure that all security policies and user account policies are saved to disk instead of the .msc file. Installing the new version of Security Center reinitializes the history of the System Wide Policy and overwrites the .msc files.
