Filtering Reports

When selected filtering options are set, the system also maintains filtering reports including

  • Broadcast filtering report

  • Dynamic port filtering report

Broadcast Filtering Report

When broadcast filtering is enabled, the system maintains a broadcast filtering report. This report

  • Indicates when the high threshold value for broadcast packets has been reached or exceeded.

  • Indicates when the rate of broadcast packets has decreased to or below the low threshold value after filtering has been triggered.

  • Provides statistics related to broadcast traffic that has been filtered. These statistics provide information including the source address, destination address, and protocol of traffic that has been filtered.

Dynamic Port Filtering Report

When dynamic port filtering is enabled, the system maintains a statistical report related to dynamic port filtering. This report indicates when TCP and UDP messages have been discarded and provides statistics for traffic that has been filtered. These statistics provide information including the source address, destination address, protocol, port number, and count of messages. For TCP messages, the report also includes the TCP control flags of the traffic that has been filtered.
