Kerberos Security

Kerberos is a network authentication system that can be used to secure client-server communications over a network where messages might be intercepted, altered, or replayed. ClearPath Kerberos Security is an implementation of Kerberos standards for ClearPath MCP systems.

How Kerberos Uses MCP Cryptographic Services

Kerberos Security can use AES, RC4, or DES encryption. The DES encryption algorithm is implemented within the MCP environment. The AES and RC4 encryption algorithms are implemented in the Windows environment and are made available to Kerberos Security by MCP Cryptographic Services. To use AES and RC4 encryption, your ClearPath MCP server must include a Windows environment and MCP Cryptographic Services must be loaded in at least one Windows environment of the ClearPath server.
