Telnet

The security administrator can enable or disable the security configuration options in distributed system service Telnet Server. The security configuration options, Security Authenticate, Security Encrypt, and Security communication provide security at the Telnet level. They are set through the AUTHENTICATE, ENCRYPTION, and SECURECOMM TELNET system security options. See Security Configuration for more information.

Security Authenticate enables Kerberos authentication. Security Encrypt enables the Telnet client software to negotiate data encryption from the server to the client, from the client to the server, or both. The SECURECOMM TELNET security option controls whether secure Telnet ports are offered. For more information about distributed system service Telnet security and the security configuration options, refer to the TCP/IP Distributed Systems Services Operations Guide.
