An older version of the Security Center Windows client can connect to the current Security Center server on the MCP; however, limited cryptographic services management is available. For example, you can change the crypto allocation schema, create IPsec keys and tape keys, and obtain a list of keys.
Administrators upgrading their workstations to use a new Security Center client should ensure that they have all of their templates, files, and MSC shortcuts saved before the upgrade. The new installation of the Security Center client installs the default shortcuts and overwrites any user-saved information.
To save the security policy history for the client, do the following:
-
Select System Wide Policy.
-
Right-click and select Export List, or select Export List under Action in the menu bar.
The information is written to a text file.
