Secure Access Control Module enables you to implement tape security for tape volumes that have associated with them a usercode and the SECURITYTYPE, SECURITYUSE, and SECURITYGUARD attributes.
This feature has the following characteristics:

A tape volume can be “owned” by a user.

A tape volume can be a public or private volume.

Different kinds of access can be designated with the SECURITYUSE attribute.

The tape volume can be guarded with a guard file.
