Migrating Security Center to a New Level
You can use the Simple Installation (SI) program for the installation, or you can manually install the software.
Using the Simple Installation (SI) Program
Using the Simple Installation (SI) program is the recommended and simplest method to complete the migration.
Follow these steps:

Ensure that *SYSTEM/SECURITYCENTER and the file *DESCRIPTION/SECURITYCENTERDB/INSTALLED are present on the family on which you plan to install the new release.

Terminate any programs that are accessing the Security Center database.

Mount the Security Center release media, or copy the media to disk, and run the SI utility, specifying the appropriate INSTALLDATA file. Specify that Security Center be installed on the family you chose in Step 1.
This process creates the following files:

*SYSTEM/SECURITYCENTERDB/SECURITYCENTER is a copy of the previous release of *SYSTEM/SECURITYCENTER. The SI utility uses it to copy the database to a system file.

*SYSTEM/SECURITYCENTERDB/DBLOADDUMPFILE is a system file containing the contents of the Security Center database. At the completion of the installation, the contents of this file are used to restore the database. The guard file *SECURITYCENTERGF controls access to this file
Using Manual Installation
Unisys recommends using the Simple Installation (SI) program to install and to migrate Security Center. Manual migration, without the Simple Installation (SI) program is possible, but that introduces the risk of files not being copied or installed properly, and of subsequent version mismatch errors.
Use manual installation only when SI cannot perform the migration. Those cases should be limited to migration from a pre-release or field test version of the product.

Update Security Center Workstation Client
To update the Security Center workstation client, uninstall the old Security Center at the Windows workstations and install the new version:

Map a drive to the INSTALLS share at the MCP system at which the new SYSTEM files were just copied.

Navigate to the Security Center folder.

Double-click or run the .msi file.
