Since Security Center uses a two-step process to connect to the MCP environment, it uses both Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) and Domain Name Service (DNS) to resolve host names to IP addresses. If you receive the message “Invalid handshake received” when the host name is used, and using the IP address works, then check the client WINS and DNS configuration to ensure that the host name can be resolved.
