Some Security Center errors are reported as numeric codes, others might have unclear meanings. The following table describes some of the codes that might be encountered.
Table 36. Codes Reported at the Security Center Workstation Client
|
Codes |
Description |
|---|---|
|
18 |
The operation is restricted to a privileged user or a security administrator. |
|
26 |
The user or the program is not in the guard file. The operation is restricted to users and programs named in the Security Center guard file (*SECURITYCENTERGF). If the user is known to be in the guard file, verify that the title of the executing code file exactly matches the CODEFILE entry in the guard file, including the file's name, usercode or "*" and the code file's family name. Operations with this restriction are those requiring access to the Security Center database, such as Cryptographic Services, Role-Based Access Control or User Realm management, and IPsec policy management. |
|
41 |
Program/database version mismatch A program does not match the release level of the Security Center database. This is usually a sign that Security Center or a component program was not installed correctly, or that the Security Center database was in use while a new version was installed. |
|
59 |
A database error occurred. The SUMLOG might have further information |
The following codes might be seen when an attempt is made to synchronize the keys in the Security Center database with those in the cryptographic service engine.
Table 37. Codes Reported at the ODT
|
Codes |
Description |
|---|---|
|
-14 |
Failed to synchronize a key or its associated certificate |
|
-18 |
Insufficient privilege This usually indicates a mismatch with the Security Center guard file (*SECURITYCENTERGF). The copy of SYSTEM/SECURITYCENTER performing the synchronization either has a different title than is specified in the guard file (verify that the code file's name, usercode and family name match the CODE FILE declaration exactly), or it is running under a usercode which is not in the guard file. |
|
-19 |
Failed to synchronize a certificate store |
|
-22 |
Failed to delete all keys and stores from the cryptography engine (this is the first step in synchronization) |
|
-25 |
Failed to synchronize a machine key |
|
-33 |
Mismatch in software levels between Security Center on the MCP and the SecureTransport software installed on the cryptography engines. Upgrade the SecureTransport software on all of the attached cryptography engines to correct this issue. |
The following code might be seen while attempting a database LOAD operation through *SYSTEM/SECURITYCENTER or SYSTEM/SECURITYCENTERDB/SECURITYCENTER:
|
Code |
Description |
|---|---|
|
-59 |
A database error occurred. This may occur when a copy of the Security Center workstation client is active while the LOAD is attempted. Disconnect or terminate the workstation client and repeat the LOAD attempt. |
