Security Options: General Considerations

When a security option acquires a new value, that value takes effect immediately, with one exception: The TAPECHECK security option is evaluated only at system initialization. Subsequent changes take effect at the next halt/load.

The settings of security options are

  • Logged in the software configuration record

  • Preserved across halt/loads

  • Cleared by a cold-start
