This procedure returns the vendor name in the VENDOR_NAME_PTR parameter.
The EBCDIC array referenced by the VENDOR_NAME_PTR pointer parameter must be big enough to hold the returned name. The maximum length of a vendor line name is 72 characters.
Normally, the procedure result is the length of the vendor line name. If an error occurred during the execution of the procedure, it returns a negative integer value.
Example
BEGIN
$ INCLUDE INTL="SYMBOL/INTL/ALGOL/PROPERTIES." 10000000 - 59999999
FILE OUT(KIND=PRINTER);
INTEGER VENDOR_NAME_LEN;
EBCDIC ARRAY VENDOR_NAME[0:71]
POINTER VENDOR_NAME_PTR;
VENDOR_NAME_PTR := VENDOR_NAME[0];
VENDOR_NAME_LEN := INSERT_VENDOR_NAME(VENDOR_NAME_PTR);
IF VENDOR_NAME_LEN > 0 THEN
WRITE(OUT,<"VENDOR_NAME = ",A*>,
VENDOR_NAME_LEN, VENDOR_NAME)
ELSE
WRITE(OUT,<"ERROR FROM INSERT_VENDOR_NAME = ",J4>,
VENDOR_NAME_LEN);
END.
