Enabling Manual Commit Mode

By default, the results of each SQL statement executed in Query Design Center are automatically committed in the database. However, you can override this action by enabling manual commit mode. Once this mode is enabled, you can then use the Commit and Abort commands to manually manage transactions. Refer to for a description of the Commit and Abort commands.

Perform the following steps to enable manual commit mode:

  1. On the Options menu, click Manual Commit Mode.

A check mark appears to the left of the command to indicate that manual commit mode is enabled.

You can now initiate the Commit and Abort commands for SQL statements you execute in Query Design Center.

  2. To disable the option, click Manual Commit Mode on the Options menu to remove the check mark next to the command.
