Step 2: Select Server and Version

This step allows you to choose which server you would like to run report problem on. The server list is pulled from your registry on your client and is the exact same list that is used by Operations Sentinel Console.

This defaults to whichever server Report Problem is launched from. If started as a stand alone, there will not be a server selected.

Step 3: Customize Report

This step allows you to specify what information you want to include in the report. To select additional information, click the information you would like to include. For the Operations Sentinel Logs, you are given a number of options on how to specify what you would like to be reported. These are:

All: This is the default option for Service Logs and Host Logs. All of the Service Logs will be copied if the Operations Sentinel Service Logs checkbox is selected, and all of the Host Logs will be copied if the Host Logs check box is selected.

All Except: This option allows you to exclude up to three logs for the entire set of Host Logs/Service Logs. The three logs must be specified in the three text boxes, one log per box.

Only: This option allows you to include up to three logs only. The three logs must be specified in the three text boxes, one log per box.

Days: This text field allows you to control how many days of logs will be included when Operations Sentinel Service Logs and/or Host Logs are included. This number defines, at most, how many logs will be in each of the log output folders. The default for this value is 2, which means that you should see, at max, two Service/Host Logs in each Service/Host logs output folder.

Note: The more you include in the report the longer it will take to load and the more disk space it will take up. Including any Operations Sentinel Logs in your report will dramatically increase the amount of space and time the report takes to run.

Step 4: Select Destination Folder

Your destination folder is the root folder where your report will be saved. The default folder is C:\WINNT\Temp. If you would like to save the file elsewhere, click "Browse" and select your root destination.

Note: When a folder is selected, a random subfolder will be created inside the root folder which you have selected. Each time you click Start, a unique folder will be used according to the date and time of the action. The destination folder will be finally compressed to a ".zip" file.

Step 5: Start Report

After completing all steps, click the Start button to start the report.

Note: The report can be stopped in the process by clicking the Stop button. A dialog box will prompt you as to whether or not you want to terminate the script. During this time the script will remain running until you click Yes. However, everything that is written up to that point will still be saved into your destination folder.

When finished with Report Help, click Exit to close the utility.
