Restrict the Use of Macros and Macros Generators

A partition definition lets you restrict the use of macros and macros generators to specific partitions. You can add a partition definition or remove a partition definition for an Operations Server.

Adding a partition definition creates an empty list of available macros and macro generators for the partition. This means no OS 2200 macros and macro generators are available for execution on an OS 2200 console hosted on the Operations Server until some are added.

Removing a partition definition deletes the list of available macros and macro generators for the partition. This means all macros and macro generators are available for execution on an OS 2200 console hosted on the Operations Server.

To add a partition definition

  1. Start OS 2200 Macro Maintenance.

  2. Click Add... .

  3. In the Add Partition dialog box, type the name of the desired Dorado Series server and the new partition definition name.

  4. Click OK.

All macros and macro generators that reside on the Operations Server populate the unavailable box. If desired, configure the macro and macro generator files to be available on the partition.

To remove a partition definition

  1. Start OS 2200 Macro Maintenance.

  2. From the Dorado System drop-down box, select the Dorado Series server that uses the partition definition you want to remove.

The available partition definitions for your selected server are displayed in the Dorado Partition drop-down box.

  3. From the Dorado Partition drop-down box, select the partition definition you want to remove.

  4. Click Remove.

  5. Click OK if you want to remove the partition definition or click Cancel if you want to stop the operation.

Once removed, the partition definition is no longer available within Macro Maintenance and all macros or macro generators are executable on that partition.

Any change you make in Macro Maintenance takes effect immediately.

Note: You must be a member of the SPO Administrators group on the Operations Server where the macro list resides to use Macro Maintenance.
