The Mapping ECL Commands enables you to create user-defined ECL Mapping for the Telnet view. You can associate shortcut keys for the frequently used ECL statements. Using this feature, you can add, update, remove, and execute an ECL Mapping.
To add, update, remove and execute
an ECL Mapping, click OS 2200
> Set ECL Mapping. Alternatively, click
from
Telnet.
The ECL Mapping window opens allowing you to perform multiple activities as has been mentioned in the following sections.
In the ECL Mapping window, the Add button is enabled at all times.
To add an ECL Mapping, do the following:
Click Add in the ECL Mapping window.
The Add ECL Mapping window opens.
The Key Stroke drop-down box displays a list of unused shortcut keys that you can use to associate any ECL command. A total of 25 pre-defined shortcut keys are available.
Select a pre-defined keystroke.
Type the ECL command in the Command text box. For example, if you enter Ctrl+d, this key combination is considered as a single ECL command.
Click OK.
Notes:
If a command is followed by \n, the command is executed when the associated shortcut key is pressed in the Telnet view.
Adding [xxx] in the ECL command for the runtime parameters allows you to provide the parameter value at the runtime.
The ECL mappings are saved and are workspace independent. Once you configure the ECL mapping, it can be used across different workspaces.
If any shortcut key specified for ECL mapping is registered as a global shortcut, then it will not work for ECL mapping.
In the ECL Mapping window, the Update button is enabled only when an entry is selected in the ECL Mapping list and if the current view is a Telnet view. You can update the associated command for a particular shortcut key using this option.
To update an ECL Mapping, do the following:
Select a valid entry in the ECL Mapping list.
Click Update.
The Update ECL Mapping dialog appears.
The Key Stroke box shows the selected shortcut key associated with a command.
Change the command associated with the shortcut key.
Click OK.
The command associated with a pre-defined shortcut key is changed.
In the ECL Mapping window, the Remove button is enabled only when an entry is selected in the ECL Mapping list and if the current view is a Telnet view. You can remove an associated command with this option.
To remove an ECL Mapping, do the following:
Select an entry that you want to remove in the ECL Mapping list.
Click Remove.
The selected command from the list is deleted and the pre-defined shortcut key is now available for mapping with a new command.
In the ECL Mapping window, the Execute button is enabled only when an entry is selected in the ECL Mapping list and the current view is a Telnet view.
To execute a selected ECL Mapping list item, click Execute.
The ECL Mapping window is closed and the selected command is executed in the active Telnet view.
