Use the Tab key to move the cursor to a specific column.
To specify the tab width, do the following:
Select a COBOL file.
Click Window > Preferences.
In the Preferences window, expand COBOL and click Editor.
Click the Reference Format tab.
The Set Tab Columns box provides default tab values. Type the values that you want to set. Use a comma to separate tab values.
Notes:
To restore the default tab values, click Restore Defaults.
After the 73 tab value, if you have not specified any value, then the tab moves only one character space.
The maximum tab value allowed is 80.
You can provide the tab values in ascending order only.
Shift+Backspace moves the cursor back to the previous tab setting.
Click Apply > OK for the changes to take effect.
