This feature allows you to open a file (SDF data file or symbolic element) from a configured server without associating it to any Eclipse OS 2200 project. You can open a file from a configured server only if one of the following shares for OS 2200 exits:
Share Name
Workfile Share
Note: You must configure at least one server before trying to open a file from a server. For more information on configuring a server, see Adding a Host.
To open a file from the configured server, do the following:
Click
Window > Show View > Other.
The Show View window appears.
In
the Show View window, expand OS 2200,
and then click OS 2200 File Explorer.
The OS 2200 File Explorer view
appears in the left pane.
Note: You
need to perform step 1 and step 2 only if OS
2200 File Explorer view is not currently present.
Select
the required host from the list of configured hosts from the Connection list.
Note: Optionally
click Clear Cache to clear
information relating to the selected host from your local system and
from the program cache. The date and time the cache was last cleared
are displayed.
Select one of the following Share options, and then provide a share name in the corresponding text box:
Share Name: This
option enables you to enter the share name in the corresponding
text box.
Note: If you do
not enter a share name in the text box, Eclipse IDE for OS 2200
automatically fills in the name of the share as os2200.
Workfile Share: Selecting this
option allows you to enter
the name of the workfile share in the corresponding text box.
Note:
If
you do not enter a share name in the text box, OS 2200
IDE for Eclipse
automatically fills in the name of the share as OS
2200.
From the File group
Select
one of the Master File Directory (MFD) options—STD#
(By default, this option is selected) or SHARED#.
Note:
You can select these options only if you have selected MHFS
while configuring the connection settings of the selected host.
Alternatively, you can type the complete name of the data file
or the source element along with the MFD name in the text box
provided under File in
one of the following formats:
Standard OS 2200 format MFD#Qualifier*Filename(Cycle).Element/Version
Non-standard OS 2200 format MFD#Qualifier\Filename(Cycle)\Element.Version
In this case, the MFD name you type in
the text box overrides the one you specify using the File options for
MFD. You can also specify a non-standard OS 2200 file in the Windows
format.
Note: When
the user navigates through different qualifiers or files, the TOC is stored
to a local cache for performance reasons.
In the text box under File, provide your input, as follows:
If you provide the input as a qualifier, then the list of file appears.
If you provide the input as a fully qualified element name or data file, then the file opens in the relevant editor.
If you provide the input as a program file, then the list of elements appears.
You can use wildcard characters such as ?, ~, and % to reduce the scope of the available options, as follows:
‘?’ Represents a single character. For example, if the searched string is A?C, the result can be ABC but not ABDC.
‘~’ Represents any number of characters. For example, if the searched string is A~C, the result can be ABC and ABDC.
‘%’ Represents the presence of a key string anywhere within the name of the entity. For example, if the searched string is AB%, the result can be ABC, CAB, and CBABD.
Note: Each valid entry for a file or an element that you provide in the text box is memorized. The most recent 10 valid entries appear as a drop-down list in the text box. You can select one of these entries from the list. To refresh the results of the search with current host information, click Refresh.
Click GO.
Select the Minimize
the view upon opening data file/element check box to minimize
the OS 2200 File Explorer
view upon opening the data file or element you selected.
Note: Selecting
the check box also minimizes any view that is opened alongside the
OS 2200 File Explorer view
and creates more space for the editor pane.
Any error that might occur during the file opening process appears
as a tooltip, which disappears if you click the mouse anywhere in
the editor or perform any action in the editor.
Notes:
If the OS 2200 IDE for Eclipse is not maximized to the full screen, you cannot scroll down to view the files that are listed at the bottom of the OS 2200 File Explorer list box.
If you re-size the OS 2200 File Explorer view or the OS 2200 Explorer view, the re-sized view is retained for the next session.
Large files are opened with an external editor.
If you select a different host from the Connection list, the elements or data files that were previously displayed disappear from the list.
In
the OS 2200 File Explorer results list, the icons of the data
file or element remain intact and the editor type is not suffixed
with the file names. For example, if the icon of a file on the
host is
and the file type is COBOL, then
the icon of the file when it is opened from the host remains the
same, and the file name is not suffixed with the .COB file type.
