Opening a Data File or an Element from an ECL Runstream

While using the ECL runstream, you might want to open a file or an element that is defined within the ECL runstream. In this case, instead of searching and then opening a file or an element from OS 2200 Explorer or OS 2200 File Explorer, you can open it directly with OS 2200 File Explorer from the editor for the ECL runstream, as follows:

1. In the ECL runstream, double-click the name of the file or element.

2. Press Shift+F7.
   
   The OS 2200 File Explorer view appears, displaying the host name and the file name. You can change the host name, if required.

3. Click GO in the OS 2200 File Explorer view.

The file opens in the respective editor.

Notes:

• To quickly open the file using the host information of the currently active project, you can skip the steps above, and press F7.

• Only valid Qualifier*Filename or Qualifier*Filename.Element name or Qualifier*Filename.Element name/Version are used.
