Modifying an Existing Project

To add or remove project links to the OS 2200 elements, do the following:

  1. Select the project or any node in the project.

  2. Do one of the following:

  1. Select one or more elements that you want in the project from the Work File Contents list on the left and click the right triangle button.

The selected elements are moved to the Project Contents list on the right.

Note: If a single element is added to the project, OS 2200 IDE for Eclipse opens the element in an editor after updating the project.

  1. To remove elements from the project, select one or more elements from the Project Contents Link list and click the left triangle button.

Note: If an element is open in an editor, you cannot remove or modify (for example, change editor type or character conversion type) that element.

  1. Before moving elements to the project, you might decide to change the element type or the character conversion. The proposed type appears in parentheses in the left pane. To change the element type or the character conversion during the move, refer to step 13 in Creating a New OS 2200 Project.

  2. To change an element type or the character conversion after it is added to the Project Contents Link list, refer to step 13 in Creating a New OS 2200 Project.

  1. When you are finished selecting elements, click Finish.

Elements that are added to the project are downloaded to the cache in the background. The element icons that are not downloaded to the cache appear yellow while the downloaded element icons appear white. The elements are the local elements, therefore, there is a significant performance improvement. The TOC is maintained within the project folder. Once the TOC is fetched, it updates the cached TOC list. The TOC contains the list of all the elements in the work-file on the OS 2200. You have to click on Refresh to fetch the latest TOC from the OS 2200.

Notes:

  1. If you are not in the OS 2200 perspective, you are prompted for permission to change to it; click Yes.

Note: The elements in the Work File Content list follow the OS 2200 format, whereas the elements in the Project Contents Link list follow the POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface) format.
