Changing the source file format

Source files can be created in the following two formats:

• Fixed-length format
• Variable-length format
• Free format

For details about these formats, refer to " Reference support ".

1. Select [Window] > [Preferences]. The [Preferences] page appears.
2. Select [COBOL] > [Editor] in the left pane. The [Editor] page appears in the right pane.
3. Select the [Reference Format] tab. The [Reference Format] page appears.

1. Select [Fixed Format] or [Variable Format] from [Reference Format]
2. Click [OK] to close the dialog box and change the format. Click [Cancel] to close the dialog box and ignore the change.
