Resources FAQ

When do I need to clean up a resource and how do I do it?

Cleaning up a resource resets the failure count. Each resource is assigned a migration threshold that provides a count on how many failures can occur before the node is considered unsuitable to run the resource and its dependents. When this threshold is reached, the resource migrates to the other cluster node. To reset the failure count, on the ClearPath Forward Fabric Management Platform web-based graphical user interface (also called the FMP Manager user interface), access the Cluster Dashboard page and use the Cluster Dashboard to identify the failed resource, click the arrow button next to the node, and then select Clean Up. A resource will not run on a node where the migration threshold is reached or exceeded.

Can I manually move resources to the other cluster node?

Use the Cluster Dashboard page of the FMP Manager user interface to move the FFM workload from one node to the other: Identify the node where the resources are currently running, click the arrow button next to the node, and then select Move. This stops the FFM resources on the node, and restarts the resources on the other node in the cluster.
