Deploying Transformations

After defining and validating a transformation, it is deployed to the Data Exchange Runtime to perform the data transformation.

Before deploying the transformation, ensure the schemas of the transformation source and transformation target are updated if there is any change or modification in the data store definition on the host.

  1. Click the Transformation View, and select the transformation that you want to deploy.

  2. On the Transformation menu, click Deploy Transformation.

    Alternatively, on the Transformation View, right-click the transformation and select Deploy.

    The Deploy Transformation dialog box appears.

  3. Enter the host name or the host IP address and the port number where the Administrative Service is hosted.

    If there are multiple network adapters / addresses, enter the host IP address instead of the host name to avoid name resolution issues.

  4. Click OK

    Notes:

    • If you make any changes to the transformation and deploy it, the deployed version is incremented by one and is displayed in the Properties pane.

    • If you are deploying large transformations, you need to update the parameter AdminDBTimeoutInSecond in the configuration file (Data Exchange Admin Service.exe), from 30 sec to 180 secs. The configuration file is located at Data Exchange\Runtime Administration\AdministrativeService.
