Clients do not have to be physically located on the host on which Operations Sentinel is executing. The SPO_EVENT environment variable can be used to specify the Operations Sentinel host system. Specify “<host>” where <host> is the name specified in /etc/hosts or the DNS Internet address for the Operations Sentinel host. Similarly, the SPO_EVENT_SECONDARY environment variable can be used to specify the secondary (backup) Operations Sentinel host system.
