When an Operations Sentinel server connects to or disconnects from the interface software, the interface software sends messages identifying the primary and secondary servers. In addition, the interface software sends the following additional message containing elapsed time since last halt/load and elapsed time since interface software initialization, to help distinguish between mainframe issues and network interruptions.
hhmmss LAST HALT/LOAD yyyymmdd hhmmss (seconds-elapsed); AGENT INITIALIZATION yyyymmdd hhmmss (seconds-elapsed)
where:
hhmmss
MCP host time when the message was sent.
HALT/LOAD yyyymmdd hhmmss (seconds-elapsed)
data/time of the last HALT/LOAD and seconds elapsed since the last HALT/LOAD.
AGENT INITIALIZATION yyyymmdd hhmmss (seconds-elapsed)
data/time the Interface Program started and seconds elapsed since it started
Elapsed time facilitates the use of SP-AMS to perform automated action based on the values. Actual date and time are convenient for the user to include in a customized Status display.
