The interface software sends the following messages, but makes no threshold comparisons. For families and units reported on by these messages, the interface software sends the messages to the connected Operations Sentinel servers at the time interval defined by the DISK_INTERVAL parameter (see Section 3) or SAMPLE DISKS command. See Section 5. Typically, the Operations Sentinel Autoaction Message System (SP-AMS) processes these messages and sends attribute-change event reports to Operations Sentinel.
When there is no threshold specified, the interface software sends the following STATUS messages.
family–name AVAILABLE megabytes–available available% CAPACITY capacity–in–megabytes family–name (index) AVAILABLE megabytes–available available% CAPACITY capacity–in–megabytes
When there is no threshold specified and CAPACITY is specified, the interface software sends the following STATUS messages.
family–name AVAILABLE megabytes–available available% CAPACITY capacity–in–megabytes [AREASIZE area-size] family–name (index) AVAILABLE megabytes–available available% CAPACITY capacity–in–megabytes [AREASIZE area-size]
If the configuration parameter or command that specifies a threshold for a disk family or disk unit does not include a severity, the interface software uses the default MAJOR.
