Disk Available Space Messages: New Format

The interface software produces the following messages if you have set DATABASE_LEVEL to 2 or 1+2 in the configuration file. See Section 3.

One of the following messages is sent to Operations Sentinel when the amount of available disk space for a disk family or disk unit decreases to less than the threshold value specified for that family or unit in the configuration file. Typically, the message is processed by SP-AMS and causes an alarm to be displayed in an Operations Sentinel Console Alarms window.

family–name DISK FAMILY AVAILABLE SPACE space–remaining% BELOW THRESHOLD
threshold% SEVERITY severity [AREASIZE area-size]

family–name (index) DISK PACK AVAILABLE SPACE space–remaining% BELOW
THRESHOLD threshold% SEVERITY severity [AREASIZE area-size]

While capacity remains below the threshold, the interface software sends this message repeatedly if you specify a nonzero value for the parameter RENEW_DISK_ALARMS in the configuration file. See Section 3.

The following message is sent after a threshold alarm message was sent for a disk family or disk unit, and the amount of available disk space has increased to a value equal to or greater than the threshold value specified in the configuration file for the family or unit. Typically, this message is processed by SP-AMS and causes the alarm that was raised as a result of the BELOW THRESHOLD message to be cleared.

familyname DISK FAMILY AVAILABLE SPACE spaceremaining% ABOVE THRESHOLD
  threshold% SEVERITY severity [AREASIZE area-size]
familyname (index) DISK PACK AVAILABLE SPACE spaceremaining% ABOVE
THRESHOLD threshold% SEVERITY severity [AREASIZE area-size]

If the configuration parameter or command that specifies a threshold for a disk family or disk unit does not include a severity, the interface software uses the default MAJOR.
