The following files are included on the MCP System release media:
*D/SINGLEPOINT/CONFIG *D/SINGLEPOINT/FILTER *D/SINGLEPOINTTEST/CONFIG *D/SINGLEPOINTTEST/FILTER *COMS/SINGLEPOINT/LOAD *OBJECT/SINGLEPOINT/DISKUTIL *OBJECT/SINGLEPOINT/INTERFACE *OBJECT/SINGLEPOINT/INTERFACE/LIB *OBJECT/SINGLEPOINT/SPIAPISUPPORT
The interface software is installed through the Simple Installation program.
Note: Refer to the ClearPath Enterprise Servers Simple Installation Operations Guide for information on the function and use of the Simple Installation utility program.
However to install the interface software manually, complete the following steps:
To install the interface software on each host system, log onto the MCP host system using the privileged usercode designated for running the interface software that you defined during preinstallation (usercode-2). Subsection 2.5 describes the assignment of usercodes.
Next, enter the following command:
COPY = AS (usercode-2) = FROM <media name> TO installation-pack(PACK)
where:
usercode-2
is the privileged usercode designated for running the interface software that you defined during preinstallation.
installation-pack
is the name of the disk pack family where the software is to be installed.
A Transaction Server for ClearPath MCP load file named COMS/SINGLEPOINT/LOAD is included on the release media to simplify installation of the interface software. Before loading this file, edit it and change the usercode and pack names for your site. Save the changed version of the file and load it using the Transaction Server for ClearPath MCP utility (formerly COMS). See 3.5 for a listing of this file.
You must designate the Operations Sentinel SPIAPISUPPORT program as a system library. To do this, enter the following command at the ODT or on the Menu-Assisted Resource Control (MARC) action line:
SL SPIAPISUPPORT=(usercode-2)OBJECT/SINGLEPOINT/SPIAPISUPPORT ON installation–pack
where:
usercode-2
is the privileged usercode designated for running the interface software that you defined during preinstallation.
installation–pack
is the name of the disk pack family where the software is installed.
Modify the default configuration and filter files for your site, if necessary. See 3.2 for a description of the format and contents of the configuration file. See 3.3 for a description of the format and contents of the filter file.
After any modification of these files, the interface software can be started. See 3.4 for details.
