The interface software requires that SP-AMS on the Operations Sentinel server send a valid usercode and password before the interface begins sending data to the Operations Sentinel server. This usercode (usercode-3) is specified in the SP-AMS database and is sent to the interface software after the initial connection. This is necessary to validate that the device connected to the interface software port is an authorized Operations Sentinel server. It is recommended that this usercode have privileged status and system user status. See 2.6.1 for a description of how to monitor an MCP host system.
