The sample database MCPMon supplied with Operations Sentinel contains an example of a pattern to match the automation initialization message and other patterns that are required for correct operation in an MCP environment.
MCPMon contains examples of alarm, log, and attribute change event reports, responses to commands, and how to activate and deactivate databases. It also contains patterns that are required to generate utilization data for bar charts and tables, patterns to enable tape monitoring activities, and patterns for the MCP application, disk, and printer classes.
If the default usercode/password in this database (SPO/SPO) does not match your chosen usercode-3 (see 2.4) and its password, you must edit the database and change SPO/SPO to the correct usercode/password. You must also change the host-id in the command ‘TOKEN HOSTID hostid’ to match the host names of your MCP systems.
The sample database is located in sp-data-folder\sp-ams on the Operations Sentinel server, where sp-data-folder is the folder that contains site-dependent data and was specified when Operations Sentinel was installed. The name of the source file for the database is MCPMon.bld; the name of the file containing the compiled form of the database is MCPMon.asp.
After editing a database, rebuild it using the Autoaction Database Manager (ADBM). See the Operations Sentinel Autoaction Message System Administration Guide.
