UNIX and Linux systems with console ports directly connected to the Operations Sentinel server and TELNET and SSH-connected UNIX and Linux systems cannot have a secondary Operations Sentinel server. In these cases, the managed system can be connected to two Operations Sentinel servers through a splitter or through multiple TELNET or SSH sessions as described in “Information Sources.” Each of these servers is considered a primary server because data is being supplied concurrently to both servers, and the system accepts input from both servers.
