OS 2200 Information Sources

For OS 2200 partitions, information of importance for system operations is sent to each console, where CP-AMS carries out automated actions when it receives messages that match patterns in its active autoaction database. CP-AMS can also create event reports and send them to Operations Sentinel, where they can affect alerts, logging, and cross system automation.

Each OS 2200 partition can have multiple consoles, but each console can connect with only one Operations Sentinel server. So with two consoles, operations events on the partition are sent to both consoles by default and can trigger Operations Sentinel event reports that are sent to both the primary and the secondary Operations Sentinel servers.

Primary Console

The primary console for any read and reply message is configured as the response console for the message group that contains the message.

Backup Console

The backup console is a console that receives a copy of the read and reply messages. To provide resiliency when there is more than one backup console, you must configure the backup console connected to the secondary Operations Sentinel server as the one that receives read and reply messages when the primary console fails.
