If the primary Operations Sentinel server fails in a multiple-console resilient configuration environment, as shown in Figure 18–4, the primary console establishes a connection with the secondary server. In this case the secondary Operations Sentinel server receives log and event traffic from both the primary and the backup consoles.
The converse applies when the secondary server fails, if the OS 2200 partition has both primary and backup consoles.
If the partition has only one console, that console switches to the secondary server when the primary server fails. In this hot standby scenario, there is no duplication of logs of event traffic.
