For Windows systems, the Windows Resource Monitor provides alert information by sending event reports to the Operations Sentinel server. It sends event reports to both a primary and secondary Operations Sentinel server if you have configured a secondary server.
You can construct custom agents to send event reports from a monitored Windows system to the Operations Sentinel server, using the command spo_event. The spo_event command sends event reports to both primary and secondary Operations Sentinel server if you have configured the secondary server.
Site-supplied Event Server API client programs, running on any of the systems on which the API is available, can supply event reports to Operations Sentinel. Using the capabilities of the API, the Windows Resource Monitor transparently sends event reports to both the primary and secondary Operations Sentinel servers if you have identified both primary and secondary server using environment variables. See the Operations Sentinel Event Server Application Program Interface Programming Guide for information on how to specify the primary and secondary servers using environment variables.
